Dr Simon Lamb is an Associate Professor in Geophysics at Victoria University of Wellington. He completed his undergraduate degree and PhD at Cambridge before carrying out a post-doctoral fellowship at Victoria, studying the tectonics of New Zealand. After returning to the UK in 1988, he continued his academic career at Oxford as a professor before returning to New Zealand in 2009.
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
