Packy the elephant was named Grand Marshal of the 2012 Spirit Mountain Casino Grand Floral Parade. Packy is the oldest Asian male elephant in America and one of the Oregon Zoo's favorite animals. Packy's birth in 1962 made international news because he was the first elephant born in the Western Hemisphere in 44 years. Packy was there in spirit in the form of a elephant float. Packy stayed home in his digs at the Oregon Zoo.
