Real World Murder, Kidnapping and Boston Bombing Investigation w/ Dennis Slavin

K-9 units and scent evidence are being increasingly used by police and FBI to gather information and hunt suspects. Scent-specific canine trainer and investigator Dennis Slavin talks us through some of the methods used and the information that can be gathered from dogs, in both kidnapping scenarios like Elizabeth Smart, and situations like the Beltway Snipers--both being investigations he was a part of.

Dennis Slavin is an expert in the training and handling of human scent-specific canines and the collection of human scent evidence. He currently works as a team member on the FBI's Human Scent Evidence Team as well as K-9 handler, scent investigation, reserve police officer for the South Pasadena Police Department. Dennis has put his expertise to work in many high profile cases including the Beltway Sniper case and the Elizabeth Smart abduction.
