This brand new episode of Coke Studio@MTV Season 4 brings back its prodigy, Ram Sampath for a second successive season. Best known for blending unlikely genres, on this episode, Ram explores the different parts of the country to bring to us varied musical masterpieces. On this episode, he presents to us 4 brand new tracks.
'Rangabati', featuring the very talented Sona Mohapatra and Odisha’s singing sensation Rituraj Mohanty, is an ode to the motherland. This track also features rappers, Tony Sebastian and Rajesh Radhakrishnan from upcoming outfit, Dopeadelicz. Best described as a ‘force of nature’ by Ram Sampath himself, Bhanvari Devi recreates her surreal performance from the previous season, on the 2nd track ‘Chadh Chadh Jana’. The song is a magical mix of drum and bass with traditional Marwari lyrics that bring us closer to our roots. ‘Anhad Naad’, while touching upon the thought of self-realization, brings together Sona Mohapatra and Shadab Faridi. Lastly, the ‘Bharatiyar Trap Rap’ leaves us with a notable afterthought of our contemporary times and meaning of freedom. This song features Vidya Harikrishna, with her proficient Carnatic singing, along with the very talented Tony Sebastian and Rajesh Radhakrishnan from the Mumbai rap crew Dopeadelicz. This song is also enriched by Viveick Rajgopalan’s bol.
