The Amethystine or Scrub Python has no trouble living close to pockets of human habitation.  She’s on the hunt for live prey in a suburban garden.   Using chemoreception to track her victim down, the Python makes her way into the chicken shed where she hides under the cover of darkness.  When she strikes, it’s fast: she constricts the chicken to cut off circulation, then employs extraordinary powers of jaw distortion to swallow it whole.
