Putrajaya will be all lit up for three nights beginning Dec 12, 2014 in conjunction with the Putrajaya Light and Motion (LAMPU) 2014 festival, which will highlight the architecture of the buildings and main structures in the federal administrative capital.
Following the success of the inaugural Putrajaya Lighting Festival 2013 that took place on the eve of 2014, once again Putrajaya is set to return this year with a bigger, brighter and more astounding lighting affair. The festival is now officially established as LAMPU (Light And Motion Putrajaya) 2014. LAMPU 2014 shall showcase an abundance of lights and beams blasted onto selected buildings and structures in Putrajaya, transforming the ambience into magic, fun and excitement. Taking advantage of the stunning building structures, projection mappings complement the outstanding façade of building, mesmerizing the eyes of viewer through the showcases.
This festival is commencing from the effort by Perbadanan Putrajaya, the local authority of Putrajaya, in introducing Putrajaya’s Lighting Master Plan, a modern lighting administration facility in Putrajaya. In complementing the festival, participation from light art communities in Malaysia mainly will be showcasing their creativity. The festival is also extremely aware of sustainability. Light design is high-tech, interactive and SMART. The lighting industry is undergoing a radical LED revolution, in which countless innovations and dramatic energy savings will be realized in the years to come. The light festival will alter the public area into a true event, and inspire residents, tourists, professionals and those interested in viewing and discussing light art together. The festival would be similar to the International Lighting Festival commonly held in major cities of the world such as the Lyon Festival of Lights, Amsterdam Light Festival, Berlin Festival of Lights and Light Matters: Europe’s Leading Festival.
The festival has been recorded in The Malaysian Book of Records as the Largest Light & Motion Festival.
