Joel Sartore's mission is to photograph as many species as he can to increase awareness of the many animals in danger of extinction. To build this "photo ark," he travels to zoos around the world in an attempt to photograph all of the world's 6,000 captive species. He has captured photos of more than 3,050 so far.
