Park Dietz is a forensic psychiatrist and criminologist. He received a B.A. from Cornell University and an MD/MPH in Sociology from Johns Hopkins. Dietz later served as a resident and fellow in psychiatry at Johns Hopkins Hospital and a resident and chief fellow in forensic psychiatry at University of Pennsylvania, an assistant professor of psychiatry at the Harvard Medical School and a professor of law and behavioral medicine and psychiatry at the University of Virginia. He has published widely in the fields of criminology and forensic psychiatry. He has served as a clinical professor of psychiatry and biobehavioral sciences at the UCLA School of Medicine and now is president of Park Dietz&Associates, a forensic consulting firm and Threat Assessment Group, a workplace misconduct prevention firm.

Dietz has worked on many high-profile criminal and civil cases including John Hinckley, Jr., Jeffrey Dahmer, Polly Klaas, the Menendez Brothers and The Unabomber. Dietz served as a forensic consultant on the "Law&Order" television franchise.
