Renowned forensic psychiatrist Park Dietz brings his vast knowledge of criminal behavior to Crime Time to discuss some of the finer points of notorious American cases and violence in the media and society.
Dr. Dietz speaks at length about his experience with the Andrea Yates case (convicted of drowning her five children), and why he did not find Jeffrey Dahmer to be insane. He also goes into the causes for mass-shootings and the role the media has in perpetuating violence.

Park Dietz is a forensic psychiatrist and criminologist. He received a B.A. from Cornell University and an MD/MPH in Sociology from Johns Hopkins. Dietz later served as a resident and fellow in psychiatry at Johns Hopkins Hospital and a resident and chief fellow in forensic psychiatry at University of Pennsylvania, an assistant professor of psychiatry at the Harvard Medical School and a professor of law and behavioral medicine and psychiatry at the University of Virginia. He has published widely in the fields of criminology and forensic psychiatry. He has served as a clinical professor of psychiatry and biobehavioral sciences at the UCLA School of Medicine and now is president of Park Dietz&Associates, a forensic consulting firm and Threat Assessment Group, a workplace misconduct prevention firm.

Dietz has worked on many high-profile criminal and civil cases including John Hinckley, Jr., Jeffrey Dahmer, Polly Klaas, the Menendez Brothers and The Unabomber. Dietz served as a forensic consultant on the "Law&Order" television franchise.
