There's a Malay saying that it's worth to pawn one's sarung for a taste of durian. In Malay it's " biar gadai sarung asalkan rasa durian". This illustrates the Malay community's crave for the King of Fruits, durian. For those who don't know, the sarung is a traditional circular cloth that man and woman wears .
Manaweblife had the opportunity to take a pit stop  on its KL City Guided  Walking-Talking  Tour at the old Malay enclave of Kampung Baru and once again revealed something interesting. Manaweblife came across Malay traders selling durian and also cendol with durian.  Without doubt the attraction of durian has pulled the Malay customers in this enclave.
