Yesterday Paramount Pictures announced that they had picked up the distribution rights to the new film CAPTIVE starring Kate Mara (who starred in HOUSE OF CARDS and the upcoming FANTASTIC FOUR) and SELMA's David Oyelowo. CAPTIVE is based on the book Unlikely Angel: The Untold Story of the Atlanta Hostage Hero. It tells the story of how Ashley Smith (played by Mara), a single mother and recovering drug addict, was taken hostage in her own apartment by alleged rapist Brian Nichols (played by Oyelowo).
