Recently the Arts On The Move initiative by Prasana at the Masjid Jamek LRT station showcased an unusual professional performance art group called Orang Orang Drum Theatre. This group was formed in 2013 by Boyz Chew, Zyee Leow and Damien Leow to combine two arts discipline : drums and theatre. Their new genre creative force has won acclaim and gone places as far as Europe and unlike any other. Tribal Malaysian? Street-style ? Cross Asian? Mongolian? It is up to you. They create music with a bit of improvised theatrics and put rhythms in a mix of recycled objects such as drums.Take a look at the two videos here that capture their passion.
