Stories of serial killers have fascinated us for centuries. Over the last several years, especially, there’s been a rise in true crime documentary series and podcasts, while “armchair detectives” spend hours poring over old case files and interviews, in the hope that they’ll somehow manage to finish the job real detectives have failed to.
