While most automakers do all-wheel-drive the same way, Mazda believes that they can do it one better.
By using the sensors and inputs already built into their cars, like the 2016 Mazda CX-3, that let the cars know they are driving in inclement conditions without the need for any additional hardware. Mazda’s engineers are determined to keep the zoom-zoom feel that is the heart and soul of every car they build. And by developing new mechanical bits that provide a seamless transition from front to all-wheel-drive whenever necessary, they are also on a mission to make their i-ACTIV AWD machines more fuel-efficient than their FWD counterparts, at least in the snow.
