In 2013 Mazda campaigned a couple of Mazda6 Diesel cars in the Grand Am Series and they won 9 races including the Manufacturer's Championship. What you see here is step 2: the Mazda Diesel Prototype. This is Mazda's opportunity to take the lessons learned and step up to the Tudor United Sports Car Championship. Over 50% of the engine parts are the same that were used in the Mazda6 race cars.
