Here’s Manny’s room. It’s simple and represents who he is and all his interest. Manny loves geography. He knows every country and state capital and can match a flag to its country and state!! Being autistic, he obsesses over certain subjects and details and creates repetition daily. He knows every US president, the First Lady to each president and what party they belong to. He’s now memorizing the periodic table and newly into car models and what country manufactures these cars! We did not teach him any of this. He just shows interest and we support his interest by buying him things that allow him to explore those interest and he obsesses over it because he wants to. I do not know even half of the things my son knows. He is his own teacher. Literally.
