Lion Drama In The Mara: Big Lion Grabs A Sub-Adult (Fixed Audio)

A sad day for followers of the Topi Plains pride of lions in Kenya's Maasai Mara, yet an inevitable one for those who understand lion dynamics. After the dominant male lion known as Lipstick passed away from complications due to his advanced age earlier in 2018 his partner, Blackie, abandoned the area rather than face the new force that is the six Bila Shaka lions. The abscence of males drew the Six Pack away from the Marsh pride towards the Topi Plains/Rhino Ridge pride (A breakaway of the Marsh Lion Pride). Some of the sub-adult offspring of Blackie and Lipstick left the pride but the young male here did not. Being the son of the previous dominant male lions is an unsafe situation and a combination of factors led to this sighting as discussed in the video.
The big male is known as Baba Yao and he was only doing what lions do naturally so please no hate...
