Laura Foster holds bachelor's and doctorate degrees in chemistry from The Colorado College and the University of California, Los Angeles, respectively. She was an Assistant Professor of Chemistry at Bowdoin College. Since August 2012, she has applied her love for math and science and her teaching experience to run the Hopkins PILOT Learning program.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group.
