Kaiserschmarren translates to the "Emperor’s Mess," since apparently Austrian Kaiser Franz Joseph liked his pancakes torn into small pieces, but all we really need to know is that this is a fun to make, and delicious to eat pancake, which requires no baking powder. Enjoy!
