The name Zo'é means "We, the Puturú tribe", the group of human beings who pierce their lower lips with a wooden cylinder taken from the puturú tree.
They change their puturú every 15 days and wear it since the age of 10. When they're growing up, they change it into thicker sticks every time for making their stretching bigger and bigger.
The Zo'é people are so used to looking at themselves with the puturú that they cannot recognise themselves without it.
