Published
Anil (Raj Kapoor), an artist, comes to stay in a village with his friend Jeevan and meets a beautiful village girl, Asha (Nargis). He asks Asha to model for his statue and soon they both fall in love with each other. Secretly they get married but soon, Anil leaves as his father is dying. While on the way back, his car crashes and he barely survives but is horribly disfigured. Anil is now reluctant to go to Asha and doubts she will accept him. Meanwhile, Asha is pregnant and becomes the subject of torment at the hands of the villagers. Jeevan steps in to save Asha from her ordeal by claiming her as his bride and she moves in with him. Will Anil return back to Asha before it's too late?
