INSURGENT Wins Weekend Box Office- AMC Movie News

It was another box office win for the Divergent series as the newest installment, INSURGENT, took the top spot making $54 million on its opening weekend, just slightly down from the $54.6 million DIVERGENT made on its opening weekend 1 year ago. In second place was last week’s winner CINDERELLA making $34.5 million, brining its 2 week world wide total up to $253 million. In 3rd spot is the Liam Neeson action film RUN ALL NIGHT making $5.1 million. The new Sean Penn film THE GUNMAN flopped on its opening weekend with just $5 million to take 4th place. And rounding out the top 5, KINGSMAN: THE SECRET SERVICE makes another $4.6 million for its 6th weekend in a row in the top 5, brining it’s world wide total up to $295 million.
