Professor Brendan McCormack
Director, Institute of Nursing Research, University of Ulster.
Brendan is Director of the Institute of Nursing and Health Research and Head of the Person-centred Practice Research Centre at the University of Ulster. His internationally recognised work in person-centred practice development and research has resulted in successful long-term collaborations in Ireland, the UK, Norway, The Netherlands, Canada and Australia. Brendan has more than 120 peer-reviewed publications as well as 7 books published and is Editor of the "International Journal of Older People Nursing". Brendan is President of the All-Ireland Gerontological Nurses Association [AIGNA], Chairman of the charity 'Age Northern Ireland' and a Fellow/management committee member of The European Academy of Nursing Science.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
