The plains are suffering a terrible drought, and the large herds of wildebeest - the hyenas’ favored prey - are still far to the north. The Queen faces an enormous challenge: how to keep her cubs alive and find food for the whole of the family. Driven by hunger, she makes a brave decision and forms a hunting party to head north in search of prey. In the midday sun, the hunt fails, and the Queen almost succumbs to the intense heat.
