Hungary's controversial Prime Minister Viktor Orban has lashed out at members of his own EU-wide conservative party, the European People's Party, calling them 'useful idiots' of the Left. Speaking to Germany's Welt am Sonntag newspaper, Orban was referring to a push by members of the EPP to eject Orban's Hungarians from its ranks. The EPP is worried about the Fidesz party's strident anti-EU rhetoric. Orban's repeated clashes with Brussels came to a head last month when unflattering Fidesz campaign posters of EU Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker and Hungarian financier George Soros went up across Hungary. Orban's dispute with the EU continues to be over Hungary's unwillingness to take in Muslim migrants and refugees.
