Lend means to give something to someone for a short period of time, and then get it back.
* How to use Lend: Subject + Lend + Noun + To + Person.
I lend books to Tomo. Tomo lent money to me.

BORROW:
Borrow means to receive something from someone for a short period of time, and return it.
* How to use Borrow: Subject + Borrow + Noun + From + Person.
Tomo borrows books from me. I borrowed money from Tomo.
