At a very young age, Jamie Kleman fell in love with small books that conveyed big messages. She dreamed of writing clever rhymes that would inspire readers, just as Dr. Seuss, Shel Silverstein, and many others had ignited her imagination. Jamie has been able to realize her dream through the books she has written for children, including It's Not Mean to be Green -- a story Kleman also adapted to the stage as a full length musical.

Jamie has formed A Bigger Boat Foundation - www.abiggerboat.org, a non-profit that develops projects to inspire and educate children, and helps them become responsible stewards of environmental, personal, and social issues. Kleman has also signed on as CEO and Global Correspondent for GREENTV.com, a premier platform that promotes awareness and provides dynamic updates on all green news.

Jamie is inspired on a daily basis by her husband, Bill, and their two children, Abby and Will. She continues to find valuable life lessons in unexpected places -- including walks, drives, conversations, art, and even cartoons. Kleman's first TEDx Talk highlighted how each of us can make a monster difference. Jamie is excited to once again showcase monsters, as she takes us down memory lane and explains the gifts we can all uncover from Scooby Doo and the gang.

About TEDx, x = independently organized event

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
