Jaron uses hip-hop music production as a tool to demonstrate the importance of practicing self-awareness to better understand who we are based on our socially constructed experiences. He shows us that who we are and what defines us are the various layers and interactions that have molded us into the unique people that we have become. Each person has their own combination of sounds and their own melody that makes their beat different from everyone else's.

Jaron is a 2nd year PhD student studying Leadership Education at The University of Florida. He received his Bachelors degree in Soil Science and his Masters degree in Agriscience Education from North Carolina A&T State University. His research interests include finding creative methods to teach leadership as well as using self-narration to enhance self-image and self-efficacy in individuals. He advocates for everyone to find strength and beauty within their own story.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
