Judie Brown, president of American Life League, is a guest on one of the most heated episodes in all 25 years of The Oprah Winfrey Show.
On July 3, 1989 the U.S. Supreme Court upheld a decision in Webster v. Reproductive Health Services, allowing a Missouri law permitting abortion restrictions in regard to state funds, facilities, and government-employed doctor.
Judie Brown, along with Operation Rescue’s Randall Terry, and president of the National Organization for Women (NOW), Molly Yard, were invited on The Oprah Winfrey Show to explain the impact of the Court’s decision. While Oprah attempts to keep the program on topic of Webster v RHS, much of the episode slipped into an abortion debate between audience members and Oprah’s guests.
