My name is Chuck Carbia. I received my BFA from FSU and my MFA from USF. I am currently an adjunct professor at FSU, FAMU and Chipola College. I am interested in emotional extremes such as jealousy, lust, ecstasy and hopelessness that occur in relationships - the immediacy, intimacy and humility of those moments. I use a wide variety of media, including painting, sculpture, video and performance. For the past eleven years I have been the musical director and co-collabrator in the performance group Glitter Chariot. Our performances are about relationships between friends, lovers and family. We aim for a balance of spectacle, familiarity and tenderness - to draw the viewer in close to have a personal experience about love and sadness.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
