Ian Morrison is an artist with a deep appreciation for science. With two Fine Art degrees from the Universities of Guelph and Windsor under his belt, Morrison joined the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) 24 years ago and is currently the Head Technician in the Department of Natural History's Vertebrate Palaeontology Laboratory.
In 2010, a new type specimen, "Gryphoceratops Morrisoni", was named after Morrison in honour of his discovering how the small horned dinosaur's jaw bone fragments fit together.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
