Gov. Gavin Newsom Has Opened Up California!

James Corden welcomes California Governor Gavin Newsom to Stage 56 on the day the state lifted all mandates and restrictions around masks and social distancing in compliance with the CDC (except the CBS studio!). And James asks him about the lottery program that awarded $15M to vaccinated Californians, and Gov. Newsom talks about the long road to getting the state to one of the most-vaccinated jurisdictions in the world. And when James asks the Govenor about likely facing a recall vote later in the year, the two discuss some of the challenges facing the state, from the looming fire season to the homeless crisis.
