From Teaching to Learning: Sandhya Gupta at TEDxDharamsala

Sandhya Gupta has been experimenting with ways to shift the focus of education from teaching to learning, especially with young learners. She is deeply involved in creating spaces and setting up environments which encourage learning, as opposed to teaching. Together with her husband, she is realizing the dream of a learning center, which is a space for curious and creative minds to experiment and explore the world around them. They have also been working with local schools to establish one room libraries to encourage reading and learning in Himachal Pradesh.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
