Artist Lily Yeh makes the case that each of us has the power to change the world for better if we are able to listen to the voice from our heart, and have the courage to respond to life's calling. When we let compassion guide our actions, transformation happens.

LILY YEH is an internationally celebrated artist, who has developed a unique methodology for using the arts as a medium for personal and social transformation. She is fueled by a belief that art is a human right, and that artists can create a
foundation for profound social change. She has worked with communities in Rwanda, China, Ecuador, Haiti, Ghana, Kenya, Syria, Italy, and across the United States. She founded Barefoot Artists and co-founded The Village of Arts and Humanities, a volunteer organization that uses the power of art to revitalize impoverished neighborhoods. She has been given many prestigious awards and six honorary doctorates.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
