"I wanted to walk, but the areas I wanted to explore were not safe to walk through alone... So I decided to get Gurgaon to walk with me!"

Sehba Imam is the reason behind Let's Walk Gurgaon; Let's Walk Gurgaon or LWG in short is for walking enthusiasts in Gurgaon. The walkers meet every Saturday at the crack of dawn with the sole purpose of chasing the sunrise through the green areas of Aravalli. The group which started with four walkers in June 2010 is now 3000 strong on Facebook and is never short of walkers for fun or a cause. From a mere hobby group, LWG has evolved into a close knit community that has taken up many social and charitble causes in and around Gurgaon. They walk for fun, for health, for togetherness and to cover the distances that divide urban and rural Gurgaon.

The walks through the foothills of Aravallis are full of surprises - natural watering holes and ponds, a variety of trees, wildlife sightings, close encounters with unusual insect habitats, a chance to swing like a monkey from a great banyan tree, a walk through shrubs that spread their fragrance as you crush them under your feet - And all of this is tucked away just a ten minute drive from the frenzied life of our Millinium city.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.*
