Jornalista formado pela Faculdade Cásper Líbero, trabalhou em algumas das principais redações do país, sempre na área econômica e de negócios. Foi repórter do Jornal da Tarde e do Valor Econômico, além de editor das revistas IstoÉ Dinheiro e Época Negócios. Foi redator-chefe da revista Época Negócios. Alexandre passou um ano dedicado, quase exclusivamente, a uma pesquisa sobre felicidade no trabalho, e escreveu o livro Felicidade S.A, seu livro de estreia.
