Dr. Ed Schrader is a champion of women's education. He has served as President of Brenau University since January 1, 2005. Prior to his arrival at Brenau he served as President of Shorter College in Rome, Georgia for five years. He began his career in higher education as an assistant professor of Geology at the University of Alabama Tuscaloosa 1978-1980. After several years as an executive in the international natural resources industry, he returned to higher education and his alma mater Millsaps College in 1988 as assistant professor of geology, became chair of the Geology Department in 1992, and Associate Dean of Sciences and Professor of Geology from 1995 to 2000.
