Autobytel recently caught up with Russ Ruedisueli from SRT Motorsports for an in-depth review of the new 2015 Dodge Challenger Hellcat. Besides the 707 Supercharged HEMI, there are a number of unique aspects to this car. A big part of the Hellcat is managing the air flow in and out of this car. The hood extractors let hot air escape from the engine bay. One of the headlights have been hollowed out to allow cool air into the engine.
Also unique to the Hellcat is a wheel and tire combo that feature 9.5” wide rims with bigger 275 tires. The performance envelop has been pushed and with a top speed of 199 MPH so many things needed to be upgraded. The brakes now feature a 6-piton caliper and a 2-piece 15.4” rotor from Brembo.
None of the SRT brand of vehicle is electronically top speed limited. The rides are all limited by engine or aero. With the Hellcat the aero has been upgraded. The front splitter is wider and the rear spoiler is also taller all in an effort to keep the car stable at high speeds.
