Karen Carpenter was undeniably one of the most talented musicians of the 1970's, displaying virtuosity at singing, drumming, and various other musical and entertainment skills. Charming and intelligent, Carpenter nonetheless struggled horribly with anorexia nervosa, and this would ultimately be the primary factor in her untimely death at age 32. Carpenter's battle with anorexia had been a long one, exacerbated by the stresses and demands of her fame.
