Following in the footsteps of MALEFICENT, ALICE IN WONDERLAND and the most recent CINDERELLA, Disney has just officially announced that they will go into production on a live action version of their animated film MULAN. MULAN is a retelling of the ancient Chinese legend of Hua Mulan, a female warrior who disguises herself as a man in order to take the place of her aging father in the military. The addition of MULAN now means Disney will be in production of no less than 4 live action  adaptations as MULAN joins a new ALICE IN WONDERLAND, DUMBO and BEAUTY AND THE BEAST.
