Disney just made it official: Josh D’Amaro has been named the next CEO of The Walt Disney Company.

The Board announced today that D’Amaro will step into the role following Disney’s Annual Meeting on March 18, 2026, succeeding longtime CEO Bob Iger.

If that name sounds familiar, it’s because D’Amaro has been leading Disney Experiences — the company’s largest business segment — overseeing the theme parks, resorts, cruise line, Imagineering, and some of Disney’s biggest expansions ever.

From Galaxy’s Edge and Avengers Campus to the massive future growth coming to Magic Kingdom, Disneyland, and beyond, he’s been a major force behind the Disney we experience today.

Disney also announced that Dana Walden will take on a brand-new, historic role as President and Chief Creative Officer, putting storytelling front and center across the entire company.

Bob Iger will remain on as Senior Advisor and Board member through the end of 2026, helping guide the transition.
