Pope Francis issued a special prayer on Saturday for Italian families currently in lockdown as the country works to contain the spread of COVID-19. Francis prayed for those with children at home due to school closures and individuals looking after family members with disabilities who can no longer access care centers.

Italy has been worst-hit by the virus outbreak in Europe, with the entire country under lockdown and at least 17,600 confirmed cases and 1,266 deaths as of Friday.
