Chasing bees: The search for the Western bumblebee

With funding from the Oregon Zoo Foundation's Future for Wildlife program, Xerces Society biologist Rich Hatfield spent the summer identifying bumblebee species in the Mount Hood National Forest. He was searching for the western bumblebee, a once-common pollinator that mysteriously disappeared west of the Cascades during the mid-1990's.
