Every year, 15 to 20 women and girls in Jordan are burned, beaten, or stabbed to death by family members because they are seen as having transgressed social codes of "honor."
But over the past few years there have been signs things are changing. Authorities have stepped in with measures to curb the practice.
So can Jordan put an end to "honor" killings? DW's Aya Ibrahim traveled to the capital Amman to find out.
