Skipper’s life truly began when he arrived at Best Friends in the spring of this year. One of a group of dogs that came to the sanctuary with few life skills, Skipper was unsocialized, frightened and unfamiliar with just about everything life could offer.

His body language said “stay away” and he didn’t have a clue what to do with a dog toy. But under all that fur and fear was an amazing little dog just waiting to blossom and it didn’t take long for Dogtown caregiver, Kathy Moore to see Skipper’s untapped potential.

At Best Friends Animal Society, each new dog is carefully evaluated to determine their needs before an individualized care and training plan is developed. Using a careful mix of training and play, Kathy and Skipper embarked on a two-month journey that resulted in a complete transformation and a brand new home for Skipper.

This video chronicles that short but truly remarkable journey. To learn more about Best Friends Animal Society and the work they do, go to bestfriends.org.
