Tastemaker Dini Klein shows you how to make the only cookie recipe you'll ever need.
Ingredients:
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup packed light brown sugar
1/2 cup white granulated sugar
3/4 cup butter, melted
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1 egg
1 egg yolk
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
Steps:
Preheat oven to 325 degrees F, and line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
Sift together flour, baking powder and salt in a small bowl. Set aside.
Cream together brown sugar, white sugar and melted butter until well blended. Add the vanilla and eggs. Slowly incorporate dry ingredients until mixed. Fold in chocolate chips and optional walnuts.
Using a small ice cream scoop, drop cookie dough 2 inches apart on baking sheet. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, removing from the oven before they brown completely. (They may look uncooked but will harden as they cool and have an incredible chewy texture!) Let cool and store in an airtight container.
