Beat-boxing performance: Mr. Charan Govan at TEDxChMCollege

Beatboxing, a.k.a vocal percussion, is primarily concerned with the art of creating beats and rhythms using the human mouth. However, it also involves the imitation of sounds such as scratching,singing while beatboxing, and summing up with the image of a guy in a hoodie with his hands cupped over his mouth spitting and making wonderful noises.

Charan Govan is one of the leading beatboxers in Tamilnadu. He learnt beatboxing from one of the renowned artist Darni from Singapore. He has performed at many famous clubs, hotel, festivals and colleges, and conducted several fun filled workshops at colleges. To add on, he works alongside with a group of talented Djs, rappers and b-boy who are at the top of their field in Chennai.

He dreams of cultivating this culture all over India and to be the first Indian to represent India in Beatboxing battles around the world.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience.
