Recently, more and more B747-400s getting retired one after another. However, today was different. It was a B747-400 being called back to duty.
This particular aircraft was the 1207th Boeing 747 built, delivered to United Airlines back in 03/1999 and registered as N119UA. It was retired from UA on 10/2017 and stored in Victorville, California.
Just a couple days ago, Atlas had acquired the aircraft and re-registered it to N480MC. Even though it was re-registered, it has not been marked on the aircraft yet. This aircraft came to LAX today for a short tech stop bound for HKG for D-Check and re-paint to Atlas livery.
It is always nice to see a Jumbo Jet come back from the dead and get called back to fly the skies Long live the Queen.
