One artist in the United Kingdom specializes in making miniature sized pieces of furniture. Although it may not seem to be anything unique, it's what the objects are sculpted from that sets them apart.
Jessica Harrison uses materials that are casts from her very own skin, giving the pieces an unbeatable personal touch. The casts are derived from Harrison's palms and the back of her hands.
Once the artist's furniture works are completed, Harrison takes photos of them using her own hands and skin as a backdrop, giving the appearance that the pieces are an extension of her own body.
A few of her completed works include a grandfather clock, sofa, armchair and antique looking table.
As for her ultimate goal with her pieces, Harrison says she "re-describes the body in sculpture through the skin, offering an alternative way of thinking about the body beyond a binary tradition of inside and outside."
