Amy Shark has told interviewers that she wrote her first song as a form of therapy - forget about a hit or career, it was just a way for a teen to articulate her feelings while strumming the guitar. But the Aussie singer with the global reach, who has recently brought fans beloved tracks such as "Adore" and "I Said Hi," did carry on and make a sizable impact. Her "Spits on Girls" turned lots of heads and got a buzz going in 2014. This year she dropped 'Love Monster,' an album full of catchy songs that unpack a wealth of emotions. Shark has referenced her music as "gritty pop" - it's not a shiny as some of competition's. But it is impactful. From a bedroom on the Gold Coast to taking home the Queensland Music award for Pop Song of the Year - nice trajectory. But moving forward and clocking victories can be slow going sometimes. As part of our 'Three Thoughts' series, we had Shark stop by to explain how perseverance is just as important as inspiration when it comes to sustaining a career in music.
