On this episode of AMC Mail Bag (Sunday March 29th 2015) we take the following viewer emails:
Colin McDougall writes: Hello sons and daughters of AMC ,,I love the show and you all, my question is about the new Fantastic 4 reboot,,everything I know of the fantastic 4 is different here like Sue Storm and the human torch aka Jonny storm I think you can see where I'm going with this are they not supposed to be bro and sis while in this reboot we have Michael b Jordan who is a great actor ,are they deiviating from the comic book mythology surrounding this… thoughts?
Brendan Weissman writes: Hey AMC! Love the show. In a world full of overused cliches in movies, which one annoys you the most? Personally, I hate the it was all a dream cliche and the guy goes to the ex girlfriends house only for the new guy to open the door cliche. Thanks and bring on that filthy.
Kevin Crum writes: I love the Marvel movies but I do think they are making character death feel irrelevant. Loki, Nick Furry, Agent Coleson, all have come back from the dead, and them coming back made the impact of their death not mean anything. Do you think Marvel has a problem with this?
Georgi Gochev writes: Hey Amc movie talk, greetings from Bulgaria ! I'm a big fan, I love what you are doing on the show ! Do you think after what Dwayne Johnson had to say, in his interview about Furious 7 and Shazam, concerning Black Adam being a vilan at first and then later on becoming and anti-hero, he could actually take Shazam's (aka Captain Marvel's) place in the Justice League as one of the heroes. It only seems logical, that WB would want him for more than one movie, when he is currently one of the biggest names in Hollywood. Thanks and keep up the good work!
Michael Don Ramos writes: Hi, guys. Huge fan of the show here. Are there certain fans who instantly hate you once you told them you hate or dislike their favorite movies? Is there a magical way to make these people respect anyone's opinion? Thanks and keep up the great work!
Felicia Morrow writes: What’s up AMC peeps. Quick shout out to John for both his support of gender equity in both movies and the movie industry and for having so many intelligent knowledgeable women on your team! But with all the growth in AMC Movie Talk, how does it run? How do you keep it going and growing? What kind of structure do you use? Pull back the curtain and show us how this all works! Love you guys!
Alberto Castillo writes: Awesome show! I've noticed over the past couple of weeks that all of you have been talking about Ryan Reynolds and the Deadpool movie. I just wanted to know why all of the sudden he's become so popular. His track isn't any good whatsoever, he hasn't really shown that he can carry a movie as a lead let alone a big blockbuster like Green Lantern and RUPD were really, really bad and why the Deadpool movie won't be any different. I actually think he's quite overrated and not very likable apparently I'm not the only who feels that way just look at his critical and box office failure in his career. So I want to know what's with all the love and praise for him? Even though he's box office poison. Keep up the great work!
Robert Hengel writes So it seems like everyday that we hear so and so on a movie (I.e. Tom Hardy for Suicide Squad) then the next day they're no longer attached. When a studio comes out and says that an actor will be in their movie don't they already have them contractually obliged to be in that movie?
